Brown trout

Everyday life in the Valley of Gacka would surely be unrecognizable without the flowing wonder we call Gacka, as the river literally brings life to the people of the Valley. In addition to using it as drinking water (Gacka boasts the second highest quality of potable water in Europe), they catch its fish to feed themselves, and also use the plants growing in the river to feed their cattle with. They have built many watermills at the springs in Sinac and Lešće, which they use to grind grain with. They also crafted wooden hammers to pound and soften the homespun cloth with, as well as baskets, and rough blankets made of homespun cloth. The watermills in Sinac are particularly attractive as an authentic reminder of the traditional construction on water and the old crafts from back in the day.
Come and see the watermills in Sinac, smell the freshly ground flour, hear the clattering of the mill stone and the roaring of the clear water crashing onto the drive wheel, or just relax and enjoy the fresh air.
